How many wrong guesses are allowed?
You get 6 wrong guesses before the hangman is complete and the game ends. Each incorrect letter adds one body part to the drawing — head, body, left arm, right arm, left leg, and right leg.
How is the score calculated?
Each word you solve earns points based on how many wrong guesses remain — the fewer mistakes the higher the bonus. Harder difficulty levels multiply your points. Build a streak by solving consecutive words to maximize your score.
Can I play Hangman on mobile?
Yes! Tap the on-screen keyboard to guess letters. The game is fully touch-friendly and works on any device without downloads or accounts.
What are the best letters to guess first in Hangman?
Start with the most common English letters: E, A, R, I, O, T, N and S. If the word length gives you a hint — short words are often simple nouns — keep to frequent letters and consonant pairs like TH, ST or CH appear often in longer words.
How do difficulty levels change the words?
Each level uses its own word list: Easy words are short and common (3–4 letters), Medium runs 5–7 letters, and Hard goes up to longer, trickier words. Higher levels multiply your points — Hard earns 3×, Medium 2×, Easy 1×.
Does the streak bonus carry over between words?
Your streak grows with every word you solve and resets to zero the moment you lose a round, which also ends the run. The score itself keeps accumulating during a run, so a long streak is the fastest way to a high score.
Does streak multiply the score, and are the words English?
Score for a solved word is 10 × max(1, 6−wrong guesses) × difficulty (Easy 1×, Medium 2×, Hard 3×). Streak is shown on screen but does not multiply that formula. After a win, tap Next to keep the score; a loss resets score and streak. Word lists are English on every locale. No two-player.
Are there hints in Hangman, and do repeat letter taps cost a life?
No hint or skip button. Tapping a letter you already guessed does nothing and does not add a body part. The on-screen keyboard is QWERTY A–Z; a hardware keyboard also works. Six unique misses complete the drawing and end the run.
Is Hangman timed, and what happens after I solve a word?
There is no timer — you can think as long as you like on every word. After you solve a word, tap Next to draw a new one and keep your score and streak going. The run only ends when six wrong letters complete the drawing; a loss resets your score and streak, and the next run starts from zero.
