How do I win in Lights Out?

Is every Lights Out board solvable?
Yes. Boards are generated from solved states using valid toggles, which guarantees each level can be solved.
How does scoring work?
You earn more points for clearing levels quickly and with fewer moves. Harder difficulties and higher levels reward larger bonuses.
What difficulty sizes and move limits does Lights Out use?
Easy is a 4×4 board with 22 starting moves (+2 per later level). Medium is 5×5 with 26 moves. Hard is 6×6 with 30. Using every move without clearing the board ends the run. Boards are scrambled from a solved state so every level is solvable.
Can I play Lights Out on a phone, and how is the score calculated?
Yes — tap tiles on mobile or click on desktop; no app or signup. A clear scores at least 60 points: base 280 plus 36 per level and 28 per board size, minus 2 per second and 8 per move. Fast, short solutions pay more.
Does a tap flip diagonals too?
No. Only the cell and its orthogonal neighbors (up/down/left/right). Corners flip 3 cells, edges 4, center 5. Diagonals stay. Boards are scrambled from a solved grid so a solution always exists.
Can two players play Lights Out?
No — one player. Easy 4×4 / 22 moves (+2 per later level), Medium 5×5 / 26, Hard 6×6 / 30. Running out of moves without a clear ends the run. Free in the browser, tap or click, no download.
Does Restart Level reset my Lights Out score?
No. RESTART LEVEL re-scrambles the current board (Easy 8 toggles +1 per later level, Medium 12+2, Hard 18+2), zeroes that level’s moves and timer, and keeps the run score. MENU returns to difficulty select. There is no undo or hint; tapping the same cell twice cancels itself because a toggle is its own inverse.
Does Lights Out save my best score, and is there a keyboard?
BEST is saved in the browser (localStorage). After a clear, the next level starts automatically after 0.8s — board size stays 4×4 / 5×5 / 6×6 while scramble and the move cap grow (+1 scramble on Easy, +2 on Medium/Hard; +2 moves every level). Tap or click only: no keyboard, undo, or hint. Hitting the move cap without a clear ends the run. Solo.
